The Hubnugget Team Take A Three Hour Tour

Well we are all waiting in anticipation for Spring to finally arrive after a long, piercingly cold winter. Therefore, it was such an ecstatic moment when the Hubnugget team was treated to t a lovely sailing trip, on Jason Menayan's beautiful boat.

We all boarded the S.S Gold Nugget, and were excited to learn that we were to be sailing to Catalina for the day. The day was beautiful, and the water was an azure color, and so clear that you could see the bottom of the water. Everyone was anticipating a stress less, restful trip, when the unexpected happened. Captain Jason suddenly realized that the radar wasn’t working, and we were heading in the wrong direction going further and further out to sea. What was supposed to be a fun trip started getting scary, especially when we realized that the sky was getting darker, and there was a storm coming……to make matters worse we heard the boat go putt, putt, putt….oh no we had run out of gas right in the middle of the ocean with a storm coming, to make matters worse, we saw water seeping from the bottom of the boat indicating that we had a leak, what to do what to do?

Patty Inglish, who happens to be a mensa member took charge right away and decided that the first thing we needed to do was to start throwing as much stuff over the boat, to make the boat lighter and took over with the navigation. She pulled out a map and noticed that there was an island not too far away, and that we should go ahead and try to drift ashore.

Finally, we could see the piece of land coming into view, and we all started cheering with happiness. Everyone got out and pushed the boat to shore, except for me because I had new shoes on and didn't want to get my feet wet. Finally, we made it to the shore, and everyone started looking around the island and wondering if there may be some mean pirates on the island or worse yet some headhunters, hopefully not.

After a while everyone decided that they needed a rest, Maddie Rudd and Enelle Lamb got the idea to take all of my dresses that I incidentally brought with me in a chest big enough to fit a small horse, and tied them together, and made a makeshift hammock by tying them to two palm trees.

After our naps, everyone decided that they were getting hungry, and realized all we had on the boat was water. We all set out to find whatever we could eat. We found some lovely bananas, and some pineapples, as well as some coconuts. Well KoffeeKlatch Gal and RedElf decided that they could make a feast with what we found. In just less than an hour we had Pina coladas, some tasty fish that Zuezsy Bee caught and filleted, and I made a delectable banana cream pie, baked to perfection, regardless that there was no stove( hey its possible)……..no one asked any questions but just ate drank and were merry. And then the thought hit us……..the hubnugget wannabes haven’t been chosen yet, and we are stuck on this island!

After thinking for sometime Patty came up with the plan that if everyone gathered enough rocks, sticks and coconuts she could probably make a radio that doesn’t need batteries, but could be powered by the bicycle that she had put together out of bamboo sticks.

In the meantime, Maddie, Enelle Lamb and Ripplemaker decided to put on their honeybee costumes that they happened to bring with them and put on a show for everyone, so we forgot our troubles for awhile.Those Honeybees sure can sing!

In the meantime, Patty brings out the radio that she put together and says to everyone, “listen to this“, at which point the announcer starts to talk.

Announcer: Breaking News…the Hubpages Hubnugget team has not, I repeat has not returned from their three hour tour and we have lost all contact with them. If the hub nugget team is listening to this please do whatever you can to get those hubnugget wannabes to us so there will not be any delays. Well Patty says, “looks like we are going to have to take matters into our own hands, we will take our hubnugget wannabes and stick them in a bottle and wash it out to sea and hope that it gets back home in time“.

In the meantime, Jason put together straw huts, so everyone could have some privacy, and we all went to sleep, thinking about the hubnugget wannabes drifting out at sea, and dreaming of our rescue, and if it would ever happen.

As the sun comes up over the beautiful island, everyone wakes up and we all have bananas and pineapples for breakfast. Before we know it, we see Patty Inglish drive up in a car that she has made during the night out of bamboo……”anyone wanna go for a ride”? Everyone laughs and gets on board, and Patty takes us on a nice tour of the island. Patty also mentions that she has been taking notes chronicling our adventures on the island and asks everyone if they would buy the book at which I reply,"sure I'd buy it, I'm dying to find out what happens to us".

We return just in time to hear the transistor radio announcing some news.

Announcer: Breaking News, a bottle with the hubnugget wannabes has drifted onto the shore of Catalina and have arrived just in time for the voting to start. We knew we could count on the Hubnugget team and we wish them well wherever they maybe. And if the Hubnugget team is listening right now, a little side note for you. If you were smart enough to send those hubnuggets in a bottle, you should have sent us the information of where your location is…..just saying.

The Hubnugget team all look at each other dumbfounded and say, oh well at least we have plenty of pina coladas and all the bananas we could ever want.

As the sun goes down on the beautiful Island, the team looks out over the beautiful water and prepares to spend yet another night on the hubnugget island!!!

When you are nominated by the Hubnugget team then it’s a great idea to start promoting it, such as telling all your family and friends to read and vote for your hub.
